News - French Electronic Duo Kuage Unveil 'Break Osaka'

French electronic music duo Kuage present their hotly anticipated 'A Part of You’ EP through Combien Mille Records

Boasting a trademark of considered, delicate techno, the pair have firmly positioned themselves at the forefront of forward-thinking production, and this new EP is a shining example of their distinctive signature style.
Title track ‘A Part of You’ has been creating a buzz around Kuage for over a year with its soft, wispy beats and playful samples. Uploaded to their SoundCloud in July 2013, it was quickly picked up by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank and French producer Rone, in addition to scoring plays on Germany’s 1Live.

The product of one creative evening between the pair, the uplifting track is a sophisticated mélange of techno sounds, distorted vocals and a skillful guitar melody, making it perfect for a downtempo turn on the dancefloor.

In contrast, ‘Break Osaka’ is a heavy, moody track with plenty of bass and industrial techno effects. Cutting through the murky bass are the distinctive acoustic guitar notes, creating a blend of electronic and acoustic sounds that stand out as a fresh, new take on the established genre.
The EP concludes with a six minute extended mix of ‘A Part of You’, which opens up the track by layering its components slowly before dropping into the familiar melody of the original.
